— The Concept
Most people buy a watch.
You build one.
WRST is a mechanical watch, delivered in pieces. The movement, the dial, the hands, the case, the bracelet, the tools, and the instructions to bring them together. What you get is not a finished object. What you get is an evening, a decision, and a watch on the other side of it.
— The Product
Everything required. Nothing assembled.
Inside every WRST DIY watch kit is a complete set of mechanical watch components, specialist tools, and step-by-step guidance. The kit is built around a reliable Seiko NH38 automatic mechanical movement and designed so that someone without previous watchmaking experience can complete the process.
Inside the box: an NH38A automatic movement — pre-assembled and sealed, as any movement should be — with an open-heart aperture that lets you watch it run. Around it, everything you'll put together yourself: a dark forest green grooved dial, hour and minute hands, a brushed steel case, sapphire crystal front and caseback, an integrated bracelet, and every tool required. No shortcuts, no adhesives, no missing pieces. Just the parts, arranged in the order you'll use them.
— The Philosophy
Humans are meant to create.
Somewhere along the way, making things became optional. Everything arrives complete. Nothing asks anything of you. WRST is the opposite of that. It arrives as an invitation. The value was never just in the parts. It was in the evening you gave them.
“A bought watch measures your time. A built one contains it.”
— The Experience
By your hand.
You'll open the box. You'll lay out the tools. You'll fit the dial to the movement, set the hands, seat the movement in the case, close the caseback, size the bracelet to your wrist. A hundred small decisions, made by you. Somewhere between the case and the crown, it will stop being ours and start being yours. When it finally runs, you won't feel like you bought something. You'll feel like you got away with something.
— The Drop
Twenty kits. One drop. No date.
WRST 001 is limited to twenty units. When they are gone, they are gone. We don't know when the next drop comes. The waitlist gets the only email that goes out when the doors open.
